Elevated Transit was organized a few years ago to fill a void in the state of Utah. There was no affordable public transportation system connecting the highly populated Wasatch Front with most of the rest of the state. In working with the Utah Department of Transportation, Elevated Transit created transit routes and purchased brand-new buses to connect residents of central and southern Utah to the greater Salt Lake City and Provo areas.

Before launching the service, the founders of Elevated Transit commissioned Hales Creative to provide a full-service branding and marketing campaign for the duration of their initial service contract. We loved the variety of work on this campaign—from the minute details of an award-winning logo and an effective brand tag line to the large-scale vehicle wraps we designed for three different bus styles, and from pushing pixels for their website and digital marketing campaigns to coordinating thread counts and colors for embroidery on the drivers’ uniforms. We also helped engineer a custom web-based ticketing system that was used by bus operators and customers alike.

We also loved working with talented photographer Stefan Hallberg and videographer Jeff Kohler to capture beautiful photos and videos of the Elevated Transit buses in the stunning Utah landscapes along the service routes.
The branding design work earned us recognition in the American Institute of Graphic Arts 100 Show, but more importantly, it made the client really happy with their new look and the compliments they kept receiving throughout the state.

Unfortunately, a cut in source funding forced a discontinuance of the service, so the beautiful buses have been grounded and the website more or less turned off. We’re still crossing our fingers that our friends at Elevated Transit will be able to begin running routes again sometime soon.
